COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the MSc Behaviour Analysis and Therapy program, students build a strong foundation in the principles and applications of behaviour analysis. The course begins with an introduction to the key principles and concepts in behaviour analysis, alongside an exploration of the philosophy of behaviourism, helping students understand the theoretical frameworks that underpin practice. Research methods in behaviour analysis equip students with the skills to design studies, collect data, and critically evaluate evidence, forming a basis for evidence-based interventions. Behavioural assessment modules focus on identifying patterns of behaviour, understanding their functions, and applying structured methods to evaluate individual needs in various contexts. The program emphasizes practical approaches to behaviour change, teaching students how to develop and implement interventions aimed at supporting positive behavioural outcomes. Additional modules cover supporting behaviour change within complex systems, where students learn to navigate organisational, social, and environmental factors that influence behaviour. Ethical and professional issues are integrated throughout the curriculum, ensuring students understand the standards, responsibilities, and professional conduct required in applied settings. The first-year dissertation provides an opportunity for independent research, allowing students to critically investigate a topic of interest, apply analytical techniques, and contribute to the broader knowledge base in behaviour analysis and therapy, combining theory with practical insights.
