COURSE CURRICULUM

The Advanced Computer Science course provides a comprehensive exploration of key areas in modern computing, blending theoretical understanding with practical application. In the Object Oriented Programming with Data Structures and Algorithms module, students gain advanced knowledge in designing, analysing, and implementing complex data structures and algorithms, including queues, B-trees, AVL trees, oct-trees, quad-trees, binary space partitioning grids, and multi-resolution maps. The Data Mining module introduces students to foundational concepts in big data, applied artificial intelligence, and analytics, equipping them to solve real-world problems using advanced algorithms and tools. Distributed Computing covers the principles and challenges of distributed systems, focusing on simulations, privacy, and security considerations in both academic and commercial contexts. The Project Management and Research Methodology module develops skills in planning projects, assessing risks, addressing ethical issues, conducting literature reviews, and driving organisational improvements. Mobile Application Development emphasizes the design, implementation, testing, and critical evaluation of distributed network-based mobile applications, enabling students to produce robust, practical solutions.
