COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Graphic Communication program provides a comprehensive and practice-focused approach to developing advanced skills in visual communication. The Graphic Communication Principles module introduces key design concepts such as composition, typography, hierarchy, and colour, enabling students to create thoughtful, concept-driven visual outcomes through hands-on practice. Graphic Communication Applications explores branding as a strategic design element, encouraging students to develop identities that reflect values, behaviours, services, and target audiences. Research and Practice in the Creative Industries equips students with design research methods, critical discussion skills, and theoretical frameworks, fostering research-driven design concepts. The Graphic Communication Masters Projects module focuses on digital and interactive design, including motion graphics, UX, and UI, allowing students to create dynamic, screen-based visual experiences. Professional Design Practice introduces students to the workflows, client management, and creative processes of contemporary design studios and agencies, while supporting the development of a professional portfolio that demonstrates skills and industry readiness. The Final Major Projects module offers a self-directed opportunity for students to consolidate their learning, producing a substantial body of work that reflects their design philosophy, creativity, and technical expertise.
