COURSE CURRICULUM

The program provides a strong grounding in both the theoretical and practical aspects of legal practice, offering a combination of core and optional modules that prepare students for professional success. Core modules include Foundations of Legal Practice, which introduces the essential principles and frameworks of the profession, and Business Law in Practice and Taxation, which explores commercial transactions and tax considerations. Property Law in Practice develops understanding of land, property, and conveyancing, while Dispute Resolution and Advocacy equips students with practical skills in negotiation, litigation, and court procedures. Criminal Law in Practice focuses on the complexities of criminal proceedings, ensuring a robust understanding of both prosecution and defense work. The Legal Practice Research Project allows students to undertake an in-depth investigation into a chosen area of law, strengthening research and analytical skills. Optional modules provide the chance to specialize and tailor studies to career goals, covering areas such as Child Protection and Youth Justice, Employment Law, Family Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Private Client practice. The Legal Advice Clinic offers valuable Qualifying Work Experience through direct client interaction, while Professional Practice (SQE2) helps prepare for advanced assessments. Together, these modules ensure a well-rounded preparation for legal practice.
