COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport and Exercise Therapy program is a three-year degree designed to equip students with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies required to assess, treat, and rehabilitate sports and exercise-related injuries. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge through modules in anatomy and physiology, sports therapy assessment, screening, prevention and recovery, exercise prescription for non-referred populations, and measurement and evaluation of human performance. They also explore the patient perspective in sports therapy, developing an understanding of client-centered care. The second year builds on this foundation with modules in clinical assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation techniques, exercise physiology, research methods, and biomechanics, along with optional studies in sports injuries and exercise for special populations. This year emphasizes evidence-based practice, applied learning, and preparation for real-world professional settings. In the final year, students consolidate their skills and knowledge through professional practice, sports trauma management, advanced rehabilitation, and a dissertation project. Optional modules in exercise physiology, applied movement analysis, and strength and conditioning allow further specialization. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills while gaining hands-on experience in applied and clinical settings. Graduates are prepared to work as sport and exercise therapists, rehabilitation specialists, or allied health professionals, delivering safe, effective, and professional support in sports, fitness, and healthcare environments.
