COURSE CURRICULUM

The Real Estate program is a three-year RICS-accredited degree designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, practices, and professional skills required in the property and built environment sectors. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge in built environment law, economics, and principles, alongside construction technology, digital surveying, and an understanding of how social, political, and geographical factors shape development and urban spaces. This year emphasizes technical and analytical skills, preparing students to engage with the complex dynamics of the built environment. The second year focuses on property management, valuation, housing, planning, investment appraisal, project management, and commercial law, allowing students to develop practical, professional, and ethical competencies essential for real-world application. Students explore the management of commercial and domestic buildings, understand investment markets, and apply legal frameworks to property and project management scenarios. In the final year, students undertake a built environment dissertation, develop advanced property valuation skills, and engage in commercial management and enterprise projects to hone business and leadership abilities. Modules in property law and sustainability ensure graduates understand transactional processes and environmental challenges. Throughout the program, students combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, leaving prepared for careers in property valuation, management, consultancy, development, and related real estate professions, equipped to navigate a dynamic and evolving industry.
