COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology program is structured over three years to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior, research methods, and applied psychological practice. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge by exploring core concepts across biological, cognitive, social, and developmental psychology, while learning how psychological research is conducted using quantitative and qualitative methods and ethical principles. The second year builds on this foundation, emphasizing advanced research methodology, statistical analysis, and critical evaluation of current studies. Students also gain practical experience through professional practice and employability modules, linking psychological theory to real-world contexts. Areas such as biological and cognitive research, social and developmental perspectives, and methodological approaches are studied in depth, enhancing analytical and critical thinking skills. In the third year, students undertake an original psychology dissertation, collecting and analyzing data while addressing ethical considerations and research methods. Additionally, they explore the application of psychology in diverse real-life contexts and current debates, choosing optional modules such as educational, occupational, and health psychology, psychological disorders and therapeutic interventions, social psychology, cognitive neuropsychology, and forensic psychology. Throughout the program, students integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience, developing research, analytical, and professional skills that prepare them for further study or careers in health, education, business, criminal justice, and other sectors where psychological expertise is valuable.
