COURSE CURRICULUM

The Football Coaching, Development and Administration degree offers a comprehensive pathway for students to develop practical coaching expertise, management skills, and applied knowledge of football science. In the first year, students are introduced to core concepts such as coaching theory and practice, player development, community football management, sport science, and performance analysis, alongside academic and professional skills. Modules vary depending on September or January intake, with both routes incorporating professional practice placements to build industry experience. The second year advances into modern football coaching and youth development, preparing students for the complexities of today’s game, while project operations management and football in society provide broader insights into organisational and community aspects. A key highlight is the industry placement with UK International Soccer, offering hands-on international experience and the opportunity to apply reflective practice. Football science is further explored to strengthen understanding of the physical and technical demands of the sport. In the final year, students progress to performance-level coaching, with the UEFA B licence embedded into the course, alongside modules in the business of football and leadership in sports coaching. The program culminates in an applied professional project, consolidating workplace learning and preparing students for global football careers.
