COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Civil Engineering program offers a comprehensive three-year curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience to prepare students for careers in construction, infrastructure, and civil engineering consultancy. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in mathematics, structural analysis and design, thermo-fluid mechanics, civil engineering materials, site practice and surveying, and conceptual modelling and sustainable design. These modules develop essential technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills while introducing sustainable approaches to engineering. The second year focuses on advanced engineering concepts, including structural analysis and design, geotechnics and hydrology, analytical and hydraulic methods, sustainable design, engineering practice, and highway design and surveying. Students gain hands-on experience applying engineering principles to real-world projects and develop professional and project management skills. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through individual and integrated projects, applying their knowledge to complex engineering challenges. Advanced modules cover structural analysis and design, geotechnical engineering, environmental management, sustainable transport, and civil engineering management and business. Emphasis is placed on practical application, teamwork, and professional standards, preparing graduates to meet industry demands. Upon completion, students have the technical expertise, practical experience, and professional competencies needed to pursue careers in civil engineering design, construction, consultancy, infrastructure development, and sustainable engineering solutions.
