COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program provides a comprehensive, three-year curriculum designed to develop both the technical expertise and professional competence required to maintain aircraft safety and performance. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge in aerospace mechanics, electronics, and electrical engineering, along with an understanding of aircraft materials and hardware. Modules in professional engineering techniques and analytical methods equip students with essential problem-solving, communication, and mathematical skills to address engineering challenges. The second year focuses on specialized maintenance practices, including B1 licence requirements, aircraft instrumentation systems, propeller maintenance, and fundamentals of air transport management. Students also study human factors to understand how behaviour and decision-making impact safety and operational procedures. In the final year, students advance their skills in aerospace turbine propulsion, aero-structures, aerodynamics, and system maintenance. They explore aviation legislation, PART-145 MRO organisation operations, and sustainable propulsion solutions. Practical group and individual projects allow students to apply their learning, simulate real-world maintenance activities, and conduct in-depth research to propose engineering solutions. Throughout the program, theoretical study is integrated with hands-on experience, preparing graduates to work confidently in airlines, maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities, or aerospace organisations worldwide, meeting the highest professional and regulatory standards.
