COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering course provides a comprehensive education that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing students for a wide range of engineering careers. In the first year, students build a solid foundation through modules in mathematics, design and manufacture, computing applications, mechanics, electrical science, and thermofluids. These core areas establish the essential analytical and technical skills needed to understand real-world engineering challenges. In the second year, the course advances into more complex topics with further mathematics, sustainable engineering design, engineering mechanics, control and instrumentation, and thermofluids. Students learn to apply mathematical modelling, analyse dynamic systems, and use advanced design tools while developing awareness of sustainability in engineering practice. The third year focuses on specialisation and professional readiness, with a major individual project that allows students to research and solve a significant engineering problem, demonstrating independence and innovation. Additional modules such as thermofluids, design and analysis, industrial management, and mechanics and control further consolidate technical expertise while also highlighting leadership and decision-making in engineering contexts. By the end of the course, students are equipped with the advanced problem-solving, design, and analytical skills necessary for professional practice or further study in areas such as aerospace, energy, automotive, and manufacturing industries.
