COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng in Automotive Engineering offers a comprehensive three-year program that combines core engineering principles with hands-on experience in automotive technologies. In the first year, students develop a strong foundation in mathematics, engineering mechanics, electrical principles, programming, and engineering computing applications, learning to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems. They gain essential skills in designing, assessing, and improving electronic circuits while exploring fundamental concepts in electronics and programming. The second year builds on this foundation with specialized modules in embedded systems programming, power, machines and control, automotive electronics, and vehicle design. Students also participate in a group project that emphasizes teamwork and problem-solving, applying their knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. The third year focuses on advanced automotive technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicle systems, power electronics and drives, vehicle dynamics, and smart vehicle sensors. Students consolidate their learning through an individual project, allowing them to research and develop solutions relevant to their chosen area of automotive engineering. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on practical application, analytical thinking, and technical expertise, preparing graduates for careers in automotive design, research and development, vehicle testing, and emerging sectors such as electrification and intelligent vehicle technologies.
