COURSE CURRICULUM

The education degree is structured across three years to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in working with children, preparing them for careers in teaching and wider educational settings. In the first year, students are introduced to the foundations of education through modules such as Professional Practice 1, which provides early classroom experience, alongside studies in research strategies, child development, and the creative curriculum. This establishes a strong grounding in understanding how children learn and how creativity shapes their educational experiences. The second year builds on this with Professional Practice 2, giving further hands-on experience in schools or child-focused environments, while exploring themes such as health and happiness, which emphasize well-being in education. Creative learning and research development are also central, enabling students to consider innovative approaches and prepare for more independent study. In the final year, students undertake Professional Practice 3, gaining advanced placement experience and applying leadership skills within educational contexts. Modules such as Global Citizenship and Effective Leadership broaden perspectives, encouraging students to think critically about education in a wider social and global context. The program concludes with an independent research project, allowing students to showcase their academic and practical expertise.
