The program offers a comprehensive range of modules that equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address key environmental challenges. The "Climate Change and Decarbonisation" module focuses on understanding the social and environmental impacts of climate change in the built environment, encouraging critical engagement with scientific literature and emerging sustainability practices like carbon capture and the circular economy. In the "Environmental Engineering Group Design Project," students collaborate with industry partners to devise sustainable infrastructure solutions, learning to align their projects with UN Sustainable Development Goals and manage them effectively over their lifecycles. The "Environmental Management" module provides tools for assessing and mitigating environmental impacts, allowing students to explore technical and social approaches to sustainable development while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. "Waste and Environmental Remediation" focuses on developing strategies for managing waste and addressing environmental contamination, with students applying scientific methods to propose practical remediation plans. In "Water and Wastewater Engineering," students tackle pressing water challenges by evaluating treatment methods and critiquing processes to ensure equitable access to clean water. The "Water Resources Engineering" module delves into advanced techniques for analyzing and managing water resources, including hydrologic flow, groundwater movement, and desalination, while emphasizing ethical practices in resource management.
