COURSE CURRICULUM

The Construction Management program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the key principles and practices in the construction industry. The Construction Management and Safety module focuses on safety protocols, risk management, and understanding regulations like CDM, equipping students with the skills to ensure a safe and productive work environment on construction sites. Development Project – Design Economics and Cost Planning teaches students how to design and collaborate on construction projects, while also emphasizing the importance of networking, research, and site visits to deepen industry knowledge.Precontract and Postcontract Quantity Surveying Practice explores the economic aspects of construction procurement, helping students develop the expertise to manage contracts, value variations, and analyze risks. The Construction Law, Contracts, and Dispute Resolution module covers key legal principles in construction, allowing students to navigate contracts and resolve disputes efficiently. The Development Design Project provides a hands-on opportunity to lead a development project, assess requirements, and utilize industry-standard tools like GIS software.In the Measurement and Tendering module, students focus on estimating and preparing tender documents, using measurement techniques and IT tools. Finally, the Dissertation module allows students to undertake independent research, synthesizing literature, collecting data, and drawing conclusions to contribute new knowledge to the field. These modules ensure that students graduate with the technical, managerial, and legal skills necessary for a successful career in construction management.
