COURSE CURRICULUM

In the Logistics Modelling module (30 credits), you will apply sophisticated modelling techniques to solve complex logistics and supply chain problems. Using industry-standard software like SIMUL8 and Evolver, you will generate logistics solutions using heuristics and simulation techniques. By the end of the module, you will have developed software skills and the ability to formulate and compare the benefits of metaheuristic and discrete event simulation models. The Operations Management module (30 credits) focuses on essential logistics techniques in operations management, such as production planning, operations design, Material Requirement Planning (MRP) models, and using Excel Solver for practical solutions. You will work with international case studies to solve logistics and supply chain problems and demonstrate your understanding of improvement strategies for operations management. This module is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT) in the UK. In the Strategic Logistics module (30 credits), you will examine key techniques for strategic decision-making in logistics, including data envelopment analysis, multi-criteria decision-making, and project management methods. You will learn how to evaluate and recommend appropriate models for specific problems in supply chain management, such as sustainable container port management or warehouse design, with insights from guest lecturers working in the field. This module is also CILT-accredited. The Supply Chain Management module (30 credits) delves into important topics like inventory, production planning, alliances, network design, distribution, pricing, sustainability, and forecasting. By studying global company cases and interacting with professional guest speakers, you will strengthen your group work abilities while learning about the practical aspects of supply chain management. This module is accredited by CILT as well. Finally, the Project (Masters Logistics) module (60 credits) allows you to conduct large-scale research on a logistics or supply chain issue of your choice. You can choose practical or theoretical projects, with an emphasis on case studies from your industry or country, and generate actionable recommendations through intellectual analysis, which you will present at a professional level.
