COURSE CURRICULUM

This program offers a robust structure for students aiming to advance their knowledge and skills in criminology and forensic science. The "Crime Science" module (30 credits) introduces students to various tools and techniques used in crime prevention, investigation, and reduction. In "Forensic Investigation" (30 credits), students gain practical skills in evidence recovery, recording, and dissemination, learning to meet accredited standards while evaluating criminal investigation scenarios using virtual reality and immersive learning tools.The "Research Methods and Research Ethics" module (30 credits) is designed to help students develop research skills essential for their Master's dissertation. This module guides students through designing a research proposal, identifying the necessary research methods, and addressing ethical concerns while developing a deeper understanding of their chosen research topic. The module encourages students to plan their postgraduate research effectively, documenting sources and objectives.The "Dissertation/Major Project" (60 credits) is the culmination of the program, where students carry out a small-scale research project or applied work-based project. This module requires students to integrate their learning, designing ethical methodologies, conducting systematic research, and presenting their findings professionally. Throughout the process, students receive academic guidance, helping them refine their skills and produce a comprehensive dissertation or project report that demonstrates their understanding of criminological concepts and research practices.
