COURSE CURRICULUM

This program offers a comprehensive approach to clinical exercise physiology, blending practical skills with advanced theoretical knowledge. The Clinical Exercise Testing and Interpretation module teaches students how to assess, diagnose, prevent, and treat various chronic diseases, with a focus on cardiopulmonary exercise testing and functional field tests. Students gain hands-on experience in interpreting fitness levels and creating exercise plans for individuals with chronic conditions. In the Clinical Strength and Conditioning module, students develop evidence-based practice skills by critically evaluating research in clinical exercise physiology, particularly for managing long-term health conditions through physical activity. The Pathophysiology and Medical Management module dives deep into the development of diseases, offering advanced skills in diagnosis and treatment, with an emphasis on understanding both primary and secondary diseases and their effects on complex long-term conditions. The Psychobiological Aspects of Health module explores the psychological and biological factors influencing health, focusing on health behavior, cognitive models, and the biological aspects of health conditions. Finally, the Research and Practice Development module equips students with the skills to design and conduct substantial independent studies, blending research with practice to develop a comprehensive understanding of professional growth and career development.
