COURSE CURRICULUM

The Masters Project (60 credits) allows you to demonstrate your analytical, technical, and research skills by independently investigating a real-world problem. You'll formulate robust aims, gather and analyze data methodically, and present your findings through polished written and oral reports. This project will challenge you to address significant issues in industry or academia while considering ethical and professional standards. The AI Foundations in Practice (15 credits) module introduces the mathematical and philosophical principles of Artificial Intelligence, focusing on machine learning and its problem-solving applications. In the Intelligent Data and Text Analytics (30 credits) module, you'll develop skills in extracting meaningful insights from unstructured data, using techniques like semantic analysis and clustering algorithms to uncover hidden patterns in text, speech, and multimedia. The Programming for Data Analytics and AI (15 credits) module teaches you to analyze complex datasets using industry-standard software and programming languages like Python, enhancing your ability to solve data queries and create data applications. In the Big Data and Machine Learning Applications (30 credits) module, you'll apply big data and machine learning methods to large-scale datasets, solving real-world challenges in fields like cybersecurity, healthcare, or robotics, and gaining confidence in advising on AI and big data solutions. Finally, the Explainable AI (15 credits) module explores techniques for creating transparent and accountable AI systems, helping you design systems that audit processes, ensure fairness, and augment human intelligence using tools like SHAP and LIME.
