COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of your architectural program, you will focus on building a strong foundation in both design strategy and theory. The Architectural Design: Strategy module (30 credits) will challenge you to address real-world problems through sustainable design solutions. You'll explore a variety of contexts, from cultural to environmental, and refine your skills in creating detailed design proposals that adhere to legal and ethical standards. In the Architectural Design: Synthesis module (30 credits), you will tackle more complex projects, blending your knowledge to produce innovative designs sensitive to climate issues, with a focus on structural integrity and sustainability.The Architectural History and Theory: Application (15 credits) and Architectural History and Theory: Introduction (15 credits) modules will deepen your understanding of how architecture interacts with society over time. Through research and critical analysis, you will explore the cultural, political, and historical factors that shape architectural theory and practice. The Building Tectonics and Environment module (15 credits) will enhance your technical skills, focusing on structural systems, construction methods, and sustainable design practices, while the Project Management in Architecture module (15 credits) will equip you with the skills needed to manage architectural projects from inception to completion.In the second year, you will begin preparing for professional practice with the Practice Management and Professionalism in Architecture module (15 credits), where you will learn the practical aspects of setting up and running an architecture practice, including legislation, marketing, and financial management. The Thesis Design module (60 credits) will give you the opportunity to develop an in-depth architectural thesis, integrating research and design. You will also have the opportunity to further explore your ideas in the Thesis Dissertation (30 credits) and Thesis Preparation (15 credits) modules, allowing you to refine your design concepts and research methods for your final architectural thesis.
