COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1, the program covers foundational aspects of sport management, focusing on research skills, societal impact, and business management. The Contemporary Issues and Research Skills in Sport Management module equips students with academic and research skills, exploring major events and contemporary issues that influence the sports landscape. The Sport and Society module delves into the role of community sports in the UK, addressing its social, economic, and political impact. Students gain a deep understanding of sport as a social construct and its evolving role in society. The Sport Business Management module examines the global impact of sport, focusing on management within different sectors, including public, non-profit, and professional sports, and addressing economic and social issues such as sustainability and equality.In Year 2, students advance their knowledge with specialized modules. Digital Marketing and Social Media offers practical experience in creating online strategies, while Human Resources for Sport Management prepares students for solving HR issues within sports organizations. The Operational Management module allows students to explore the management of sports facilities, and Sponsorship and Sales in Sport teaches revenue generation and partnership strategies within the industry. The Sport Event Management module explores the logistics and planning of sports events.In Year 3, students engage in strategic management and gain hands-on experience with Applied Strategic Management in Sport, focusing on leadership and teamwork. They also explore the Economics and Finance of Sport, Occupational and Organisational Psychology, and Sport Entrepreneurship, preparing them for leadership roles. The Work-Based Learning module enhances employability through industry experience, providing students with skills to apply in the professional sports environment.
