The Mathematics program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied mathematics, equipping them with essential problem-solving and analytical skills. The Mathematical Models module focuses on applying mathematical methods to real-world scenarios, including biology and physics, and Statistical Theory and Methods I provides an introduction to probability and statistical inference, laying the groundwork for data analysis and hypothesis testing.In Year 2, the curriculum deepens with modules like Applications of Mathematics and Graduate Skills, where students apply their mathematical knowledge to solve practical, open-ended problems. Calculus II builds on previous calculus knowledge by introducing multi-variable calculus and Fourier series, along with advanced methods for solving differential equations. The Real and Complex Analysis module delves into the analysis of complex functions, exploring integrals, differentiation, and sequences.In Year 3, students tackle more advanced topics like Partial Differential Equations and their Applications, focusing on analytical and numerical methods for solving major equations used in science and engineering, such as heat and wave equations. This comprehensive program prepares graduates for a variety of careers in mathematics, physics, engineering, and data science, offering both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to solve complex problems in diverse fields.
