COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computing program offers students a well-rounded education, combining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed in today’s fast-evolving tech industry.In Year 1, modules like Architecture and Operating Systems, Core Computing Concepts, and Database Systems Development lay the groundwork in computing fundamentals, database management, and networking. Students also develop their programming skills through the Programming module, where they gain proficiency in algorithms, object-oriented programming, and languages like Python and Dart.Year 2 shifts focus towards more advanced concepts. Software Engineering Theory and Practice teaches students the complexities of large software projects, while User Experience Design and Implementation integrates programming with user-centered design principles. Database Principles further hones skills in data modeling, relational databases, and SQL. Operating Systems and Internetworking explores system-level programming, and Business Information Systems Security dives into the cybersecurity aspects that protect business data.In Year 3, students apply their knowledge through the Individual Project (Engineering), where they tackle real-world challenges in a self-directed project. Modules like Advanced Networks and Usability Testing provide deeper insights into networking technologies and human-computer interaction. By the end of the program, graduates will be well-equipped to enter a variety of roles in software engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity.
