COURSE CURRICULUM

This BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree provides a structured three-year journey that develops strong technical knowledge, practical skills and professional readiness for the modern digital world. In Year 1, students build essential foundations in core computing concepts, database development, networking, programming, and computer architecture and operating systems, gaining a clear understanding of how systems function and how software is created and managed. Year 2 focuses on developing advanced technical capability and problem-solving through modules in software engineering practice, programming languages and applications, data structures and algorithms, operating systems and internetworking, as well as discrete mathematics and functional programming. Ethical hacking is also explored, helping students understand cybersecurity principles and real-world security challenges. In Year 3, students apply their knowledge more independently through a substantial individual engineering project, allowing them to demonstrate technical skills and innovation. Advanced topics such as theoretical computer science, artificial intelligence, distributed systems, security and digital enterprise further prepare students for industry environments and emerging technologies. Across all years, the course combines theory with hands-on learning to build analytical thinking, creativity, technical expertise and professional confidence, ensuring graduates are well equipped for careers in computing, software development, cybersecurity, AI, networking and other technology-focused roles.
