COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computing and Cyber Security program provides students with a strong foundation in essential computing concepts and practical skills for careers in IT and cybersecurity. Year 1 covers a range of introductory modules, such as Architecture and Operating Systems, Core Computing Concepts for Cyber Security, and Networking Essentials, which teach foundational knowledge about computer systems, networks, and cybersecurity. The Programming module offers hands-on experience with algorithms and object-oriented programming, while System Administration and Internetworking provides practical expertise in managing small to medium business networks.In Year 2, students delve into more specialized topics, including Cloud Computing, where they explore virtualization and cloud technologies, and Enterprise Networking, which prepares them for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. Modules like Network Servers and Services and Ethical Hacking equip students with skills to design, secure, and administer network infrastructures. Security and Cryptography teaches techniques for developing secure systems and performing vulnerability analysis.Year 3 focuses on applying knowledge in real-world scenarios. The Individual Project (Engineering) module allows students to tackle industry challenges through project-based work, while Network Design and ISP Solutions provides expertise in designing resilient networks. The IT and Internetworking Security module explores security systems and prepares students to safeguard organizations against evolving cyber threats. By the end of the program, students will have developed a comprehensive skill set in network management, cybersecurity, and system administration, preparing them for careers in the growing field of IT and cybersecurity.
