COURSE CURRICULUM

The Game Design and Development program offers a comprehensive blend of technical and creative skills essential for a career in the gaming industry. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge through modules like 3D Modelling, Art Skills for Games, and Game Development, which teach key skills such as asset creation, game logic, and collaborative project development. The Coding and Scripting for Games module introduces programming concepts, helping students master game mechanics, while Games Design and Context enhances their ability to develop original game concepts through critical analysis of gameplay, storytelling, and level design.Year 2 shifts focus to more advanced skills, including gameplay programming, maths for games, and working with modern APIs and SDKs. The Creative Research and Project Initiation module helps students plan and execute their own projects, while Student Enterprise for Games offers real-world experience in market research, business strategies, and pitching, preparing them for the industry's commercial side.In Year 3, students apply their accumulated knowledge in the Real-Time Interactive Group Project, working on large-scale projects to refine and optimize game experiences. The Final Year Project allows for an individual creative, research, or professional endeavor, with a focus on project management and critical analysis. By the end of the program, students are equipped with both technical and collaborative skills, ready to meet the demands of the gaming industry.
