COURSE CURRICULUM

The Game Design and Development program is structured to offer both technical and creative skills essential for succeeding in the gaming industry. In the first year, modules such as 3D Modelling, Art Skills for Games, and Coding and Scripting for Games provide a strong foundation in creating assets, developing art, and learning the basics of game logic. The Game Development module challenges students to work collaboratively on group projects, testing coding and asset creation skills in real-world applications. Additionally, the Games Design and Context module equips students with the knowledge to create engaging game concepts, while the Production Studio module develops leadership and collaboration abilities. These modules lay the groundwork for students to think creatively and critically, preparing them for the challenges of game design.In the second year, the Student Enterprise for Games module offers real-world experience in market research, business strategy, and pitching, giving students the tools to manage and promote game ideas. Leadership Development focuses on personal and team growth, teaching students how to lead discussions, analyse management styles, and create inclusive work environments. These modules aim to equip students with the entrepreneurial and leadership skills necessary to thrive in the fast-paced gaming industry.In the final year, students undertake a substantial Final Year Project, demonstrating their project management and problem-solving abilities. Group Leadership, Management, and Production Skills modules further enhance students' ability to lead projects and manage creative teams. This comprehensive approach ensures that students are well-prepared for both the technical and managerial aspects of game development, making them industry-ready upon graduation.
