The Politics and International Relations degree program offers a comprehensive understanding of political systems, global issues, and the theoretical frameworks that shape governance. In Year 1, students are introduced to the foundations of British politics and beyond, exploring key analytical concepts and the dynamics of political demands and governance. The Critical Thinking and Professional Identity module helps develop essential academic and professional skills, including writing, research, and public speaking. The Bending the Truth A Little? Researching Politics and International Relations module equips students with the skills to critically assess political claims from various sources and form their own research-based arguments.In Year 3, the Post-Brexit Politics module investigates the political consequences of Brexit, exploring its impact on the UK, Europe, and the EU. Students will study the aftermath of the referendum, policy shifts, and the changing dynamics in areas such as immigration, foreign policy, and party politics.
