The three-year journalism program offers a comprehensive foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of media studies, equipping students with essential skills for success in the industry. In Year 1, core modules such as Academic Skills and Career Planning, Global Screens, and Journalism in Context introduce students to key concepts in journalism, media law, and global media industries. Students explore essential skills in writing, critical thinking, and media analysis, while also preparing for career opportunities through a focus on transferable skills. The Media Law and Regulation and Reporting modules offer hands-on experience in navigating legal aspects and producing content for digital and print media, building a strong foundation for professional practice. Year 2 expands students’ knowledge with modules like Feature Writing and Media Research, which strengthen writing and research skills, and Media Networks: Exploring Digital Culture, which delves into the digital landscape and the evolving role of technology in media. This year enhances students’ creativity and understanding of the digital culture, preparing them for careers in the modern media environment. The final year offers an optional module, allowing students to specialize in areas of interest.
