COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of this program, students will build a strong foundation in computing and data science. The "Architecture and Operating Systems" module focuses on the logical and theoretical systems that make up a computer, teaching students about CPUs, operating systems, and the mathematical basis of technical computing. "Core Computing Concepts" explores four essential areas of computing: web design, cybersecurity, usability, and a specific topic tailored to the student's degree, providing a solid intellectual base for further studies. The "Database Systems Development" module equips students with the skills to design relational databases and apply SQL queries to deliver actionable business insights. In "Practical Data Science," students will learn statistical methods and techniques for analyzing complex datasets, using emerging technologies to process data and present it in an understandable way. The "Programming" module introduces students to algorithm development, object-oriented programming, and Python and Dart, grounding their understanding of programming. In the second year, the "Applied Machine Learning and Data Mining" module allows students to explore machine learning toolkits for real-world problem-solving. "Software Engineering Theory and Practice" teaches students the principles of large software systems and provides hands-on experience developing software applications. The "Data Structures and Algorithms" module focuses on implementing fundamental data structures and optimizing algorithms for real-world data. In the final year, students undertake an "Individual Project (Engineering)" to demonstrate their competencies and integrate their technical knowledge in real-world applications. "Open Innovations in Data Science" explores emerging applications of data science, while "Business Analytics" teaches students how to leverage data for business insights and decision-making.
