COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM Law (Conversion) offers a comprehensive study of core legal subjects essential for progressing to professional legal training. Modules such as The English Legal System, Contract Law, Equity and Trusts, Torts, Criminal Law, and Land Law develop a foundational understanding of legal principles, case law, statutory interpretation, and the operation of law in practical contexts. Students also undertake a substantial Legal Research Project, enhancing their ability to carry out independent research and formulate well-supported legal arguments. A Work Placement in Law provides valuable hands-on experience within a professional legal environment, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real legal practice and gain insight into potential career pathways. Optional modules allow further specialisation, including Solicitors Legal Knowledge, which builds functioning legal knowledge in line with SQE1 requirements, and Constitutional and Administrative Law and European Union Law, which explore the UK constitution, governmental authority, judicial review and the structure and legal processes of the EU system. Together, the program strengthens analytical skills, legal reasoning, and professional capability, providing a solid platform for future legal qualifications and employment across a range of legal and related sectors.
