COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Economics and Finance program provides a comprehensive foundation in economic theory, financial practice, and quantitative analysis, preparing students to understand and respond to global economic and financial challenges. In Year 1, students develop core knowledge through modules including Principles of Economics, Quantitative Methods and Statistics, Management Accounting, and Discovering Your Subject, establishing essential skills in analytical thinking, numerical reasoning, and financial literacy. Year 2 builds on this foundation with Macroeconomic Analysis, Microeconomic Analysis, Financial Management, and Research and Consultancy Skills, alongside optional modules such as History of Economic Thought and Econometrics, allowing students to deepen their theoretical understanding and technical expertise. In Year 3, students explore applied and specialised areas through modules including Sustainable Development Economics and Investments and Financial Risk Management, reflecting the growing importance of responsible and sustainable financial practices. Students also select optional modules such as Digital Finance, Monetary and Financial Economics, Behavioural Economics, or Strategic Leadership and Governance, tailoring the degree to specific career interests. The final year culminates in a Capstone Project, which can take the form of a dissertation, placement, consultancy project, or start-up initiative, providing practical experience and professional readiness. Overall, the program equips graduates with critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills essential for careers in finance, banking, economic analysis, consultancy, and policy-making.
