COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum spans three years. Year 1 covers foundational sciences, introduction to mental health nursing, communication skills, and basic clinical practice. Modules include Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, and Mental Health Across the Lifespan. Year 2 advances to complex mental health conditions, therapeutic approaches, pharmacology, and research methods. Key modules: Mental Health Law and Ethics, Psychosocial Interventions, and Placement in Acute Settings. Year 3 focuses on leadership, advanced practice, and transition to professional nursing. Modules include Leadership in Healthcare, Complex Care Management, and Extended Placement. Throughout, students undertake 2,300 hours of supervised practice in hospitals, community services, and specialist units. Assessments include exams, essays, presentations, and clinical evaluations.
