COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum spans three years, divided into modules that build progressively. Year 1 focuses on foundational sciences, including anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, alongside introductions to child health, communication skills, and professional practice. Students undertake initial placements in community and hospital settings. Year 2 delves into complex care, covering acute illnesses, mental health in children, and evidence-based interventions. Modules include research methods, ethics, and interprofessional collaboration, with extended clinical placements in pediatric wards. Year 3 emphasizes leadership, management, and specialized topics like palliative care, safeguarding, and transition to adulthood. Students complete advanced placements, a dissertation, and preparation for NMC registration. Throughout, assessments include exams, essays, presentations, and objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs). The program totals 4,600 hours, with 50% theory and 50% practice, aligning with NMC standards.
