COURSE CURRICULUM

Year 1 introduces foundational concepts including Key Concepts in Sociology, Social Theory, and Research Methods. Modules cover identity, inequality, and applied sociology in contexts like education and health. Year 2 builds on this with advanced topics such as Globalisation and Development, Sociology of Health, and Quantitative Research. Students engage in optional modules like Media and Society or Crime and Deviance. Year 3 focuses on specialised areas including a Dissertation project, Sociology of the Body, Environment and Society, and options like Migration or Digital Cultures. The curriculum emphasises critical analysis, empirical research, and ethical considerations, with assessments through essays, presentations, and exams.
