COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Politics with International Relations program offers students a comprehensive understanding of global politics, international affairs, and political theory while providing practical skills for policy analysis and active political engagement. In the first year, students study foundational topics such as global politics, political philosophy, civil and political rights, international relations, and security, which establish the core knowledge needed to understand political systems and global issues. The second year builds on this with modules in governance, political leadership, and research skills, alongside optional modules covering regional politics, liberty and extremism, or gender and politics, encouraging critical analysis of contemporary challenges. The third year allows students to undertake a dissertation and in-depth study of political ideologies, resource competition, and development in the Global South, while optional modules offer a focus on social movements, foreign policy of major powers like Russia and the United States, or Middle Eastern politics. Across the program, emphasis is placed on understanding the historical, cultural, and social contexts of political action, exploring the role of digital technologies, social media, and activism in shaping modern politics. Graduates gain analytical, research, and communication skills, preparing them for careers in diplomacy, policy-making, international organizations, political consultancy, or further academic study in politics and international relations.
