COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum is structured over three years. Year 1 introduces foundational concepts with modules like Introduction to Criminology, Police and Police Work, Crime and Society, and Criminological Theory. Students also study academic skills and optional topics in psychology or sociology. Year 2 builds on this with advanced modules such as Criminological Research, Victimology, Penology, and specialist areas like Cybercrime or Youth Crime. It includes options in human rights or forensic studies. Year 3 focuses on independent research through a dissertation, alongside modules like Comparative Criminal Justice, Serious and Organised Crime, and options in terrorism or media representations of crime. The program emphasizes research methods, ethical issues, and practical applications, with assessments including essays, reports, presentations, and exams.
