COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Electronic and Robotic Engineering is structured around seven core modules that provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical foundations and practical applications in electronics and robotics. Electronic Systems introduces the design, analysis, and implementation of complex electronic circuits and devices, forming the basis for advanced engineering work. Research Methods and Sustainable Engineering equips students with essential research skills and promotes awareness of sustainable practices in engineering projects. Robotic Systems Programming focuses on developing the software and coding expertise required to operate and control modern robotic systems, while Automation and Control examines the principles and techniques for automating industrial and technological processes. Mechatronics integrates mechanical, electronic, and computing systems to provide a holistic approach to designing and implementing intelligent machines. Image Processing for Robotics teaches students how to analyse and interpret visual data, enabling robots to interact effectively with their environment. The Dissertation module allows students to undertake an independent, in-depth research or design project, applying their knowledge to solve real-world engineering challenges. In addition to these core modules, two optional zero-credit modules—Learning and Professional Development and Employability Skills and Employment—support students’ professional growth, career readiness, and practical engagement with industry standards. Collectively, the course equips graduates with the technical skills, analytical abilities, and industry-focused experience necessary to excel in the rapidly evolving fields of electronics, robotics, and automation.
