COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Cyber Security is designed to prepare students for professional roles in protecting digital environments, offering a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and research experience. The program includes core compulsory modules such as Fundamentals of Cyber Security, which introduces essential principles and techniques for securing information systems, and Network and Systems Security, which focuses on protecting infrastructure against cyber threats. Security Operations and Assurance provides practical training in managing security processes, monitoring systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, while Machine Learning explores the application of intelligent algorithms for threat detection and cybersecurity solutions. Research Methods equips students with the skills to conduct rigorous, evidence-based investigations, supporting critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, and the Dissertation module allows students to apply their knowledge in a substantial, independent research or practical project. Students also have the option to tailor their studies with modules such as Big Data Analytics, focusing on the management and analysis of large datasets, or Digital Transformation and Innovation, which examines the integration of emerging technologies and innovative practices in cybersecurity contexts. Supporting modules, including Programming Support, Employability Skills and Employment for internship students, and Learning and Professional Development for international students, enhance practical competencies and professional readiness.
