COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bioinformatics Masters is structured to provide students with a thorough grounding in genomics, computational biology, and data analysis, equipping them with the skills to interpret and apply biological data in healthcare and research contexts. Compulsory modules ensure a solid foundation, starting with Introduction to Genetics and Genomics, which covers the essential principles of genetic information and biological systems. Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics introduces computational approaches to analysing genomic data, while Data Science for Bioinformatics develops the programming and analytical skills required to manage and interpret complex datasets. Advanced Bioinformatics and Genome Analysis provides specialized training in genome-level analysis, enabling students to extract meaningful insights from large-scale biological information. The Bioinformatics Project allows students to undertake an independent research project, applying their knowledge and skills to address real-world challenges. In addition to these core modules, students can choose from optional modules that allow for further specialization, including Machine Learning, Information Systems in Healthcare, Data Management in Healthcare, Data Architecture and Security, and Big Data Analytics. These options provide opportunities to integrate computational and data-driven approaches with healthcare applications, enhancing students’ technical expertise and professional versatility.
