COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Interior Environment Design program includes a series of compulsory modules that provide a comprehensive foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of interior design. The module Phenomena, Emergent Technologies and Communication introduces students to the latest technological developments and their impact on design, while Urban Agendas explores the relationship between interior environments and broader urban contexts. Sustainability, Materials and Processes, and Details focuses on environmentally responsible design practices, material selection, and construction techniques, ensuring that students consider both functional and ecological aspects of their work. Environment Design Theories, Ethics and Society, and Professional Practice examines the ethical, social, and professional dimensions of interior design, preparing students to work responsibly and effectively in diverse settings. Design Project allows students to apply their knowledge and creativity to real-world challenges, developing practical solutions that demonstrate their design thinking and technical skills. The program culminates in a Project or Dissertation, where students undertake an in-depth research or design project that integrates theory, practice, and innovation. Together, these modules ensure that graduates develop a holistic understanding of interior environment design, combining creativity, technical expertise, ethical awareness, and professional competence, and equipping them to make meaningful contributions to the design industry.
