COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Hons) Law degree provides a comprehensive legal education designed to develop both foundational knowledge and specialized expertise. In the first year, students build a strong grounding in core areas of law, including constitutional law, contract law, criminal law, the English legal system, and public law, providing essential insights into how the legal system operates. The second year expands on this foundation with compulsory modules in equity and trusts, European Union law, land and property law, and tort law, alongside optional modules such as legal practice, ethics, regulation, and mooting and advocacy, allowing students to gain practical skills and experience in applying the law. In the final year, students can tailor their studies by choosing six optional modules from a wide range of areas, including evidence law, public international law, company law, employment law, intellectual property, sports law, cybercrime, international environmental law, commercial and consumer law, civil litigation and practice, community legal advice, immigration law, international human rights, and family law. This structure enables students to develop specialized knowledge in areas of personal and professional interest while reinforcing a comprehensive understanding of the legal system. By combining theoretical study with practical application, the program equips graduates with the analytical, critical thinking, and professional skills needed to succeed in a range of legal careers or pursue further postgraduate study.
