COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year Visual Effects (VFX) program provides students with a comprehensive education in the technical and creative skills required for a career in this rapidly growing industry. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge through modules such as Principles of VFX, VFX Toolbox, Digital Toolbox, CGI Foundations, Digital Sculpture, and Visual Narrative. This stage focuses on essential techniques including matte painting, 3D modelling, texturing, and camera use, while exploring the relationship between the physical world and computer-generated imagery to create realistic, immersive visuals. The second year builds on this foundation with modules like The Composite, Current Trends of VFX, VFX Animation, Character Animation, Rigging and Creature FX, and 3D Matchmoving. Students expand their skills to include animation, rigging, nodal compositing, 3D tracking, and motion capture, developing a critical understanding of industry-standard methods and processes. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through advanced modules such as Environmental Effects, Professional and Industry Practice, Live Brief, Investigative Study, and a major Project. This stage emphasizes creative problem-solving, conceptual analysis, and the application of technical skills in professional contexts. Graduates leave with a strong portfolio, practical industry experience, and the expertise required to pursue careers in film, television, gaming, and other visual media sectors, fully prepared for the demands of the VFX industry.
