COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year BSc Sport and Exercise Science program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the physiological, psychological, and biomechanical principles underpinning human movement and performance. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules such as human anatomy and physiology, introduction to sport and exercise psychology, sport and social issues, kinesiology and biomechanics of movement, working in sport and exercise science, and a question of sport. These modules establish essential scientific and theoretical principles while fostering an understanding of the societal context of sport. In the second year, students develop applied expertise with modules including sport and exercise physiology, applied sport and exercise psychology, sport and exercise science in practice, sport and exercise biomechanics, sport and exercise data analytics, and physical activity and health promotion. This stage emphasizes hands-on learning, data interpretation, and the application of theory in real-world contexts to support performance and health outcomes. In the final year, students consolidate their knowledge through a dissertation while selecting optional modules tailored to their interests, such as exercise, health and disease, sport, exercise and performance psychology, biomechanics of performance and injury, sports and the law, performance analysis, applied physiology in sport and exercise, physical activity and community exercise, and enhancing sport performance. Graduates gain the scientific understanding, analytical skills, and practical experience required for careers in sport, fitness, health promotion, performance analysis, and related fields, as well as the foundation for postgraduate study.
