COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year Quantity Surveying program provides students with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional expertise required to pursue a successful career in the construction industry. In the first year, students build a foundational understanding through modules such as building regulatory control, design procedures and procurement, computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modelling (BIM), building structure and materials, construction technology 1, and professional practice. These modules introduce students to essential construction principles, design processes, regulatory requirements, and the use of digital tools to support project planning and management. The second year focuses on developing applied skills in construction law, construction technology 2, measurement and documentation, environmental science and building services, cost planning and design economics, and project management. This stage emphasizes practical application, enabling students to assess costs, manage resources, and understand the environmental and economic aspects of construction projects. In the final year, students consolidate their learning with advanced modules such as commercial management, contract administration, advanced measurement and quantity surveying practice, sustainable technologies for building, and a dissertation. Graduates develop the ability to manage projects efficiently, ensure compliance with regulations, apply innovative technologies, and deliver cost-effective and sustainable construction solutions. The program equips students for careers in quantity surveying, cost consultancy, construction management, and related roles in the built environment, preparing them to meet contemporary industry demands and challenges.
