COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year Psychology with Educational Practice program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how young people learn, the psychological processes underlying learning, and strategies for creating inclusive and effective educational environments. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules such as facilitating learning: how children and young people learn, mind, brain, and behavior, data handling and analysis in psychology, development in a social world, qualitative inquiry in psychology, and real world psychology: learning and diversity. These modules introduce key psychological concepts, research methods, and practical approaches to understanding learning in diverse contexts. The second year develops applied and analytical skills with modules including personality and individual differences, cognitive neuroscience, psychology in practice, psychosocial development across the lifespan, assessment theory and practice in education, and becoming an independent researcher, allowing students to deepen their understanding of learning processes and assessment strategies. In the final year, students consolidate their knowledge through a dissertation and advanced modules such as learning in multicultural environments and special educational needs and disabilities: inclusion in practice, while optional modules such as health psychology, neuropsychology, therapeutic approaches to behavior change, and mental health diagnosis and intervention enable students to tailor their studies. The program equips graduates with the knowledge, research expertise, and practical skills needed for careers in educational psychology, teaching, educational research, and related professional fields, while fostering critical thinking and inclusive practice.
