COURSE CURRICULUM

This three-year pharmacology program provides a comprehensive foundation in the science of drug action and development, preparing students for careers in research, clinical trials, and pharmaceutical industries. In the first year, students build essential scientific knowledge through modules such as cell and microbiology, human anatomy and physiology, genetics and disease, fundamentals of chemistry, fundamentals of biochemistry and molecular biology, and essential skills for bioscientists. These modules establish a strong understanding of biological systems, molecular processes, and laboratory techniques. The second year expands on this foundation with more specialized topics including bioinformatics and systems biology, fundamentals of pharmacology, infection and immunity, neuroscience, endocrine and gastrointestinal pharmacology, proteins and enzymes, and research, development, and leadership. These modules develop analytical, experimental, and leadership skills while deepening understanding of drug mechanisms and their effects on various body systems. In the final year, students apply their knowledge through a final year research project and advanced modules such as antimicrobial, antineoplastic, and neuropharmacology, cardiovascular, respiratory and renal pharmacology, drug discovery and development, and applied molecular medicine. The program combines theoretical understanding with practical experience, enabling graduates to gain expertise in drug action, safety, efficacy, and development, equipping them with the skills required to succeed in diverse scientific and healthcare careers.
