COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management degree provides a comprehensive foundation in people management, equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in modern HR roles. In the first year, students develop core competencies in managing and developing people, data analytics for HR, digital working, equality, diversity and inclusion, influencing stakeholders, and understanding business ethics and corporate social responsibility. The second year builds on these fundamentals by focusing on employment law, HR professional practice, research methods, psychology and employee engagement, global perspectives in performance and reward, and the international business context of HRM. These modules prepare students to address real-world HR challenges and understand the strategic role of HR in organisations. In the final year, students study strategic HRM, leadership and change management, contemporary business issues in HRM, and consultancy in HRM, alongside the option to explore knowledge management or managing small and medium-sized enterprises. This structure enables students to specialise in areas aligned with their career goals while applying practical and theoretical knowledge. Throughout the course, a combination of case studies, projects, and interactive learning ensures that graduates are prepared to perform effectively as HR practitioners, capable of managing talent, influencing organisational culture, and supporting strategic business objectives, while also providing a pathway to further professional qualifications or postgraduate study.
