COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cyber Security degree provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills required to address the challenges of securing modern information systems. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in computing and mathematics, learning programming, computer architecture, algorithms, and information systems, alongside an introduction to the societal impact of cyber security. This prepares them to understand both technical and ethical aspects of the field. In the second year, the focus shifts to applied cryptography, network and security principles, cyber threat analysis, and artificial intelligence, with opportunities to work on collaborative computing projects that simulate real-world scenarios. This combination of theory and practice develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for protecting digital infrastructure. In the final year, students explore enterprise security management, advanced cyber security topics, cyber crime investigation, and machine learning, while completing an individual project that synthesizes their learning. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on identifying vulnerabilities, designing secure systems, analysing threats, and understanding the legal and ethical considerations of cyber security.
