COURSE CURRICULUM

The Construction Project Management degree provides a comprehensive understanding of the technical, managerial, and commercial aspects of construction projects. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge in professional practice, construction technology, building regulatory control, and design procedures, alongside practical skills in computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modelling (BIM) and an understanding of building structures and materials. Year two builds on this foundation, focusing on advanced construction technology, environmental science, project planning, construction law, project management, and the integration of design and construction through collaborative projects. Students learn to manage complex construction processes while considering sustainability, safety, and efficiency. In the final year, the course emphasizes commercial and financial management, contract administration, and sustainable building technologies, culminating in a project dissertation that allows students to apply their knowledge to a real-world construction challenge. Throughout the program, students acquire practical skills, analytical thinking, and leadership abilities essential for managing multidisciplinary teams, liaising with clients, and overseeing all stages of construction projects. The degree equips graduates with the expertise required to plan, execute, and deliver construction projects on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and safety, preparing them for a successful career as construction project managers in a competitive industry.
